In April we head to down to our factory where the heart of our brand beats the strongest. We will showcase firsthand through video and photos the meticulous process that goes into crafting our cigars and show what separtes us from other cigar companies. From the selecting of the finest tobaccos from the best tobacco soil in the world to the artesian hands of our professional torcedors. We want to provide you a virtual tour into the essence of the Marco V brand and showcase our dedication and passion that goes into every Marco V Cigars we create.

When we launced Marco V Cigars in 2009, we started with 3 blends and one size. Since then we built out our Classico collection, launched the Privato Jalapa Reserve Collection (a premium collection from our Nicaraguan factory), and then launched the Mont Blanc Premium House Blends. Our goal was to make the Mont Blancs the best value in the cigar industry. It worked as the Mont Blancs have one of the strongest followings and biggest fanbase.

One of the reasons why I started Marco V Cigars was because of the role the cigar plays in celebrations. We talk about it here where the origins of Marco V come from Victor Vito lighting up a cigar to commemorate his passage into the United States. They mark a right of passage in many avenues in life and were/are a staple at all of our family gatherings where memories are made. This is Marco V at the core.

2022 was another banner year for us at Marco V. 

Here were our key highlights from 2022:

• Our Marco V Privato collection demand doubled vs. 2021
• The Dom Privé received an "Outstanding" rating from Cigar Aficionado
• We focused on unique, customer focused events with our brand partners.
• Our Marco V Red premium wine demand doubled vs. 2021 and received a 91 rating at the California Sommelier Wine Competition.   
• We continued to invest in our core Classico collection by expanding our proprietary aging process and implementing additional quality standards.
• Our business grew for the 13th year in a row despite massive macro and micro economic headwinds

The Marco V Black Sapphire uses the best tobacco in the world from a small, hidden farm in Jalapa, Nicaragua. The tobacco for the Black Sapphire is hand-selected in the curing barn by our master blender to ensure the absolute best quality smoke and flavor like no other. The Black Sapphire is a full-bodied, flat, rectangular pressed, torpedo.

Marco V is the entrepreneur, the engineer, the visionary, the late night notebook idea, the side hustler who has that extra drive and motivation to make a difference in the world.   Marco V is not the rich guy who has made it but the grinder trying to get there.  

We received a question on how we create the unique "Marco V" flavor that is common within our blends. The answer is in the blending of the unique tobaccos. We take a lot pride in how we create our unique blends. It all starts by using the best grade A tobacco from the best tobacco growing regions in the world.

Its hard to believe it is already March!   Time absolutely flies.  That is a great reminder to take time to enjoy a cigar.   Every March we head down to Marco Island, Florida to escape the winter.   Marco Island is a special place to us as that is where the inspiration for Marco V was born.   You can read about that special spot here:

Last month was a big milestone for Marco V Cigars.   We not only qualified for a rating with Cigar Aficionado (which requires 200 brick and mortar retailers nationally carrying your cigar) but received two 90 ratings!   The 90 rating falls within the Cigar Aficionado scale of "Outstanding".  

From the seeds to the nine-foot-tall tobacco plants, every step is monitored by our Marco V's agricultural experts. Each tobacco leaf section produces a slightly different flavor, so leaves are harvested in small groups to precisely select the flavor of each part of the cigar.

It has been a blessing to get back to doing events again. That personal connection and being able to talk about cigars face to face is second to none. This past month we were in Boston, Chicago, Wisconsin, Las Vegas and of course our home state of Minnesota.

After 11 years of business, March 2021 was our biggest month on record.   This is a big feat based on the fact that March is a Winter month.   Our reach across the country and Internationally continues to grow as people continue to find value in our 3 portfolios. 

This month we are excited to fully launch our Privato collection online.   The highest quality Marco V tobacco is classified as Privato.  These limited cigars come from our factory in Jalapa, Nicaragua which is home to the best tobacco in the world and has soil almost identical to Cuba.  Check out our collection here: Marco V Privato Collection
