We received a question on how we create the unique "Marco V" flavor that is common within our blends. The answer is in the blending of the unique tobaccos. We take a lot pride in how we create our unique blends. It all starts by using the best grade A tobacco from the best tobacco growing regions in the world.
Its hard to believe it is already March! Time absolutely flies. That is a great reminder to take time to enjoy a cigar. Every March we head down to Marco Island, Florida to escape the winter. As we reflect on the year and look forward to the last 3 months of 2021, I am proud of the way Marco V has established its presence as a staple in cigar enthusiast's humidors. The cross section of quality and value for Marco V Cigars is unrivaled in the cigar industry. We are able to do this through vertical integration which essentially means that we control the supply chain from seed to smoke. This is important to us as we can monitor the quality at every step and make sure everything is done right.
Last month was a big milestone for Marco V Cigars. We not only qualified for a rating with Cigar Aficionado (which requires 200 brick and mortar retailers nationally carrying your cigar) but received two 90 ratings! The 90 rating falls within the Cigar Aficionado scale of "Outstanding".
It has been a blessing to get back to doing events again. That personal connection and being able to talk about cigars face to face is second to none. This past month we were in Boston, Chicago, Wisconsin, Las Vegas and of course our home state of Minnesota.
With 2020 in the rear view mirror, 2021 has gotten off to a great start. More and more of you are finding value in our products and more humidors around the country are finding space on their shelves for Marco Vs.
We have built our business to weather unique years like 2020 by building inventory of our base tobaccos, optimizing our aging process, and simplifying our supply chain.
Now we head into Fall which is our favorite time of the year. We kick this fall off with an Oktoberfest Celebration at the Chateau St. Croix Winery during two weekends in October. At this event we will be showcasing all of our cigars and offering a free cigar for every bottle of Marco V Red or Marco V Port that is purchased.
Our farm in La Canela lies near the River Mao just west of Santiago. La Canela is widely known in the cigar industry to produce the highest quality tobacco in the world. Not one leaf from this farm is used in any other cigar brand. Our plot of land is monitored by mist filled mountains in a location only accessible by horseback.
